Katie on the go!

Katie is getting better and much faster at crawling!  She stood up by herself without pulling herself up today...Sam has been warned.  The cats will be traumatized by this time next week!  We can hardly wait to come home!

Things are going well here.  Katie has heat rash so staying in the A/C has been good for her.  The heat index is 107 degrees today.  It thundershowered for a little while but seems to be clearing off now.  We visited the jade and pearl markets this morning.  That was a really fun shopping experience.  Even Daniel and Katie enjoyed it.  We purchased a porcelain tea set for Katie, a jade necklace for myself that someday I will give to Katie, a beautiful satin quilt for Katie and four strands of pearls.  One for Katie when she's maybe 5 or 6 (or a little older), a couple for me and one for Katie when she's grown up.  It's a Chinese tradition to give your daughter pearls to wear in her wedding, so we're set.  They are very nice quality pearls from this area and very reasonably priced!

We are free for the rest of the day.  Katie is napping.  There's a restaurant around the corner called "Lucy's" that serves American cuisine so I think we'll try that for dinner this evening.  The Chinese food here is good but the American food is better!  :)  And it's all very inexpensive!
