We are disappointed that Sam will not be able to travel with us to China after all. The State Dept. issued an alert several days ago about the possibility of travelers being quarantined for the swine flu. With that came disturbing news that there have been instances of infected children being separated from their parents! That makes our stomachs churn! So after talking with several "in the know" people and saying lots of prayers, we reluctantly have decided that it is best if Sam stays here with Grandma and Grandpa.
Please keep him in your prayers! He so had his heart set on going, meeting Katie and writing it all down in his journal, which was already packed in his backpack, ready to go. We do believe that this is the best thing though.
One of those life lessons...I guess.
